Beacon Hill Water and Sewer District (BHWSD) special purpose entity which operates under the authority of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) Title 57.
The District covers an area of approximately five square miles in a rural area adjacent to the cities of Longview and Kelso in Southwest Washington. Interstate 5 runs through the District.
BHWSD provides water and sewer to approximately 10,000 citizens. Water is distributed through approximately 55 miles of water mains, with 10 water storage facilities and six booster pump stations. Ninety-five percent of the customer base is residential. District staff performs all maintenance, water quality testing and new service or repair requests. Water is provided by the City of Longview Mint Farm Water Treatment Plant, of which BHWSD is a co-owner.
We operate and maintain the sanitary sewer collection system consisting of approximately 40 miles of sewer pipe and 7 sewer pump stations. Secondary treatment is performed at a regional facility operated by the Three Rivers Regional
Wastewater Authority comprised of and owned by the cities of Longview and Kelso, Cowlitz County and the Beacon Hill Water and Sewer District.
