GENERAL MANAGER
General Description:
Beacon Hill Water and Sewer District (BHWSD) is accepting applications for the position of General Manager. This is a Chief Executive Officer position responsible for carrying out District policies, directing District operations, controlling District expenditures, and overseeing all programs and activities of the District.
The new General Manager will be a progressive leader and strong administrator, with the ability to develop and maintain exceptional working relationships with a broad array of constituents, policy makers, and business partners and staff members.
The ideal candidate for this assignment is expected to be an influential regional leader that advocates District policies and practices. To positively represent the District, the need is for excellent listening skills, an ability to convey technical utility concepts in lay terms and a style that engenders a spirit of collaboration and stewardship. Internal to the District, the General Manager will provide positive guidance, mentorship and a team orientation to the operation. Attention to detail, especially with written reports and other correspondence, will be absolutely critical. Rapid integration and adaptation to the organizational culture and the regional character will also be essential.
An experience base that includes five or more years of senior staff management in the water industry along with a Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, engineering or a related field is expected. Candidate must be able to obtain Washington State Department of Health Water Distribution Manager Level 2 certification within 18 months of employment.
Compensation
Salary range is $79,000 - $119,000 per year, dependent upon experience. The District offers a very competitive and comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, group term life insurance, short and long-term disability coverage, State of Washington PERS retirement plan participation, deferred compensation IRC Section 457 plan participation, and participation in an HRA VEBA program to save for current and/or future health-related expenses.
